Keith Cavet reports that his SC 21, "Restless," was nearly dismasted. During a recent sail the terminal on the forestay broke at the turnbuckle. Fortuitously the turnbuckle caught on a jib hank, keeping the mast up until Keith could jury rig the forestay using a couple of climbing caribiners he happened to have on board. Keith has replaced his old bronze terminals with stainless steel. The old terminals moved front to back but would not adjust side-to-side.
